Shag Rugs, Holidays, Butter and High Fashion

A few new trends have emerged in the retail community, each with its own target niche. Try some of the ideas below in your upcoming promotions.

Teen and Tween:
The New York Times recently discussed the new middle-school fad of decorating lockers with wall paper, mini chandeliers and even shag rugs. You can make every pre-teen feel included in the furnishing trend with affordable and imprinted locker-sized decor.

Holidays:
The Cut Blog noted that Banana Republic has partnered with Clos du Bois to design holiday wine bottles. The bottles include a QR code that links to a soundtrack for a holiday party. You can definitely employ the QR code in with your next wine promotion, whether it links to your client’s website or a custom soundtrack.

Personal Care:
Paula Deen, whose popularity revolves around deep-fried, buttery recipes, has created her own butter-flavored lip gloss. If having a margarine mouth is not your preference, try the Lip Balm SPF 15 from HumphreyLine. Still, you have to admit the slogan (“Put a little south on your mouth”) is catchy.

Nonprofits:
The new website Community Collection gives a portion of retail purchases to charity. You can use the Community Collection as a model for almost any promotion and suggest to your clients they give a portion their sales of imprinted products to charity.
